Crowing hen!

Well I didn't expect this.

One of my newly acquired Cochin mix bantam hens, Mipha, was just having a crowing match with my younglings.
She's also spurred.

I have no problem with it whatsoever. She can sing right along with the choir. It's very interesting though.

Knew people would be questioning her gender.

Didn't have my phone on me! I'll definitely be carrying it around all the time now.

She's the lavender. She hatched the little black pullet. She's a bit dirty. Been muddy here recently.

It was absolutely a crow.

She's super fussy and loud.
Quite skittish too. But I'm getting around her with some treats and regular handling.

They're my first bantams. Can't get used to how tiny they are. Hardly any work in comparison to those hefty Orps.

It was absolutely a crow.

It's odd that this post came up. I SWEAR I heard a weird crow coming from my coop when I put the dogs out. I know the voices of my rooster and two cockerels. This one was different. Maybe one of my girls has decided to join the choir too!

There's been a lot around recently!

It sounds like it. I know my boys crows too. I cheer them on.

This one is apparently a year and a half old.
The other bantam hen has tiny spurs too.

Its a cockerel. Hens do not crow.
