Oh no! I can't keep a cockerel.
Perhaps I should get a nice no crow collar.

When I got my 1st chickens, a family friend had given me a pair of Barred Rock youngsters. The young Roo began crowing...quite loud. With new neighbors, even though it is zoned Agricultural, permitting chickens, I worried someone else may not like crowing at 5am. I bought the cute red bow tie crow collar. He wore it proudly & looked so handsome! But...let me tell ya, it doesn't stop crowing, it just makes him sound like he's gargling while crowing, so not only was he still loud, but it sounded worrisome! The bow tie is now tucked into the famous "junk drawer" every home has. What's interesting is, I now have 11 Roos! And none of them are even a fraction as loud as my original Rocky Roo, that boy has a set of lungs & can still outcrow the best of them in his old age. Lol!Oh no! I can't keep a cockerel.

Yes, personally I love the sound of crowing, it's even the ring tone on my phone! Music to my ears!Thankfully I'm rural and can stuff the yard with cockerels. I can deal with a crowing hen.
The neighbours can't complain - they're just as bad. Love listening to all their cockerels screeching away.
Mine are more in tune. Just saying.
