Crowing hen

My 4mo-old Silky hen has been crowing for about three weeks now, several times each morning. She doesn't do it any other time during the day. It's a bit hoarse-sounding, but certainly has the right rhythm. Is this a girl just trying a little something different? Or what??

I have a brown leghorn doing the same thing only at night as the sun goes down. She is 14 weeks.

Do either of you have any roosters? I've read on here that if not, sometimes the top hen will have rooster-like attributes. (Maybe an instinct to make predators think there's a roo for their protection?)

No more roosters here. Ate the last one months ago.

I don't have any. This little henny is by no means queen of the flock. I have several matrons who fill that position.
