Yes the dry is definitely better than wet. You’ll get the hang of temp control though. I kept my quail in a covered aviary outside. Do you have plants in their run to hide under and such?

No plants yet. Some conifer branches hanging down, fortunately we have a conifer tree that we were planning to get rid of so I can hack off fresh branches as needed! There are two wooden platforms, one either side, raised up on house bricks to give extra space on top for food and sand tray and two bedding areas, plus 4 hiding spaces underneath. 8 girls in total in about 14 sq ft on the ground plus about 4 sq ft on the platforms. Boys are in a separate cage as they were overbreeding the old gals, the young girls were too fast running away from them!
