I noticed in an old post that someone said quail in settled social groups don’t crow much, just the lonely and I unestablished birds. Mine are coming 8 weeks and settled in 3 pens with 4-5 hens each and hardly crowing at all whereas my teenager males were crowing all the time. I guess I’m just surprised at this, figuring they’d crow all he time like roosters or the local pheasants, but then again they crow to attract females so there’s no reason to crow if you already have your ladies. There’s always something to learn!
