Crows

I don't think a crow would harm large fowl, we certainly have plenty of them and have never had an issue and I've never heard of anyone else having an issue either. Your mileage may vary, of course! My chickens actually seem to understand the type of call that crows make when they hear a hawk. They will all run for cover when they hear the crow alarm call, but otherwise don't pay the crows any mind at all.

Be warned, crows aren't so innocent!

The other morning, we awoke to our sweet Silkie screaming as 2 crows attacked her!!! They weren't "dive bombing," they were all over her! They pulled out a bunch of feathers and left a cut on the back of her neck. I am shocked that they flew down between 2 blue tarps (set up for additional shelter from the rain) and fence to get to her! My daughter ran out and scared them away.
So far they haven't come back, but now we have a hawk closely stalking them... as in, he's sitting on their fence and has flown down into their little yard. Fortunately, they had been under and inside the coop. I kept everyone inside for the next 5 days and haven't seen the hawk since. The crows still hang out in the pine and cedar trees on our property, but at least aren't watching our chickens.
We put up netting ALL OVER their pen. We live in the suburbs on a 3/4 acre plot with lots of trees and such. Never thought hawks and crows would be a problem here!
