I know I can put bird netting to keep the crows out of the little birds food

what about emu food? I can't put bird netting over an entire half-acre area. Seems like it wouldn't be a big deal, but when dozens of them are stealing food, it really does add up! Does anyone know of an effective way to keep crows away?

Paint ball gun might work... or if you really want them gone get a recording of a crow calling tape and some friends with shotguns put out a owl decoy and shoot as many as possible.

Make a Emu feeder out of a 5 gallon paint bucket with lid. Cut windows in the side of the bucket so the emu can stick their heads in and get the food. For adult emu you can screw down through the bottom of the bucket into a short post to get it off the ground.

My emus chase off anything that lands on the ground within their line of sight that is larger than, say, a robin, and have since they were very small. They tend to be quite territorial, so it may not turn out to be an issue if they hang anywhere around the feeder.
