Crumble vs. Pellet

Never saw a chicken go on a hunger strike and die of starvation. If the feed is fresh, not spoiled, etc etc, etc, they will eat it. I got tired of seeing all that mash melting into the ground they flicked out to find the pieces of corn.

One day I filled the feeders with pellets and went to work. When I got home they were all fine.

Chickens dont rule my roost. I do. If they don't want to eat what I give them I'm not the one going hungry.

Thanks for all of your replies, going to start gradually converting the flock to pellets, just seems they are going through a lot of feed, I have an 8 x 8 area underneath my coop where they feed, water and shelter, looks like its knee deep in feed everywhere

If your feed consumption increases it could mean rodents, so something else to keep in mind.

You might want to build a feeder like mine, I feed crumble and not one drop is wasted.
