Crumbled vs pellet

Crumbles because for one my feed store has very very limited options and pellets are too big for my smaller bantams anyway so no reason to expend the effort getting them. Mine hardly waste any feed but like I said I have little bantams and along with any younger birds I stick out there they will go around picking up every last little bit of feed anywhere in the coop.

i have a hanging feeder and i have a "collection pan" underneath it. it really makes a differencei feed mine a blend of feed. during the spring and summer its a leaner mix of lay pellets and creep feed (cattle pellets) along with scratch, veggie and table scraps and whatever may else come their way. in the fall and winter its the same but i also add rice bran pellets (very high fat 11%) and usually catfish food game bird feed or some other high protien ration. i also feed taht mix to broilers and for fattening any bird. a hint for broilers is t use lots of corn. i use meal or gluten mixedwith oil in theri feed. youll have plump juicy chickens in no time flat

I had decided to switch to pellets and had a LOT LESS waste. Now, I can't even find anyone who sells pellets around here anymore.
