Crumbles and food options

Hello!

I'm lucky to have found a feed store right around the corner from our new house! He has regular game bird laying crumbles (20% protein) and turkey starter (28% protein).

So I start them on the turkey, right? Do I have to move them to the laying crumbles or can I just keep them on the turkey indefinately? Also, how much can I expect these birds to go through, assuming I have a semi-efficient feeding trough? I bought 2kilos today but it didn't seem like much once it was in the bag.

I'm only hatching a dozen coturnix.

You can keep them on the turkey starter, it won't hurt them.
I have 33 adults and 30-something young ones. A 50 lb. bag of feed will last them about 3 weeks.

I never take mine off the starter I find they lay better on higher protein
