Crushed egg but moving a peeping?! HELP!

Yes she’s hatched before and beautifully! The offending Mama was removed from the nest, eggs happily taken over by #2 broody and Mama doesn’t show any signs of stress at all. In fact, she seems very happy and eating/drinking while chatting to her mates.

I'd move the broody in to a safe area...like that cage if I were you.

Is that veggies growing back there on the left?
That is a neat contraption.

Broody still has 2x eggs under her but I’m wondering if I move them because what if she heard this baby peeping and turned on it/attacked the egg?!
I thought the broodies hearing the chicks peeping from the eggs was a good thing? To help them switch from sitting to mama soon? Our Mama with the crushed did okay with him but I know every broody is different

Hopefully it makes it. We had a crushed egg and let our broody hatch him. (Didn't have an incubator then). We just watched him every hour and assisted when needed.

How will I know if I need to assist? This smashed chick is technically day 19/20 so would be early to hatch. The beak is through and the shell is practically all off, just a membrane remains. There is plenty of peeping and movement from the chick!

Oh really? Is that in case the orange Mama goes back for them? I plan on removing the chicks once they hatch anyway.

Yes! Our berries are growing in there! Keeps them away from the chickens and we can open the big doors at the front to harvest 😊

We waited until the others started hatching to gently assist. There are probably more threads on how to

Trouble is the other 3 eggs are under a broody hen and this one is in the incubator 🤣 there’s very little shell still attached (I’d say 60% has broken off) and only the membrane holding it in… should I wait until tomorrow so long as the chick is breathing and chirping/moving?

Update!

Decided after about 4 hours after the discovery to do an assisted hatch as baby was becoming very shrink-wrapped.

Now crashing and wobbling around in the incubator, fluffing up and peeping away at the top of its lungs 🥹
