Crusty feathers and stinky off smell

Canker sores would indicate Canker, (Trichomonosis) which is caused by protozoan.

You may be able to find meds at your local store, hard to know. Most of the time you would need to order online, but you really need to nail down what you are dealing with so you can give the correct treatment.
Ok thanks I think it’s CRD I got oxytetracycline hydrochloride from the fodder store the owner said it’s the strongest antibiotic I can get without going to a vet so fingers crossed it works. I re examined her and I think the funky feathers are from her discharge on her face

I'd make sure to look inside the beak.

A respiratory infection that smells bad is often Infectious Coryza, but it's hard to know unless you get testing done.

Hopefully the Oxy will make a difference, it can be helpful in treating Mycoplasma.

If symptoms persist, the Oxy is ineffective, then use a Sulfa antibiotic which is what is normally used to treat Infectious Coryza.

Is that something I can only get at a vet?

Where are you located? Sulfadimethoxine or other sulfa antibiotics may treat coryza. You can sometimes order those from a pigeon supply store online. It sounds like your new chickens brought in a chronic respiratory disease, and there are at least 8 of those. Once you get that in your flock, all birds should be considered contagious and carriers until all are gone. Did you check inside their beaks for any yellow material that might be canker? Close your flock and do not sell or rehome birds for their whole life. Here is one medication that is available online:

Hi I’m located in South Australia, I had a Quick Look in one of their beaks but couldn’t see much I will try again tomorrow. I started antibiotic powder today so fingers crossed it makes a difference otherwise I will look into the sulfa. I did notice some pigeons near the coop today I’m wondering if that’s how they contracted it.

It is important to know if they have canker or not, because canker is treated with anti-protozoan metronidazole or ronidazole. Coryza is treated with sulfa antibiotics. Canker stinks, but so does coryza. Inside the beak canker may cause yellowish lesions inside or on the tongue. Pigeons are carriers of it. Here is some reading about canker to see some pictures of what to look for:

thanks that’s very helpful! Can I ask do you have any tips to check in the beak? I’m a first time chicken owner and haven’t opened their beaks before is it a 2 person job?

Ok update I checked inside her beak and I thought I seen something so I checked again but I don’t think there’s any cankers. I could smell the bad smell in her beak but it’s definitely not as bad as it was! Second day of antibiotics so il check again tomorrow and hopefully she will be better
