What does it mean when ducklings are calling out? My 2 little 7 day old call ducklings have been squeaking up a storm today. They always have food and water. Brooder is cleaned twice a day. Its very warm in the room they're in, around 80, so they're heat lamp is off. Its staying around 80 in the brooder too.

They've been in a box with a towel for the past week. I found a slightly larger plastic bin today, and they're now in that with a towel on the bottom. Should have a proper brooder for them this weekend. I wasn't expecting they'd hatch so early.

They're quiet when I hold them, but the smallest will start panting like he/she is getting too warm. I listened to his/her chest, and everything sounds totally normal.

They're back in their brooder now with the lights in the room on, since they've never been in the dark.

Going to check them again later. Is there anything else I'm missing?

If their panting their too hot. As to the peeping, oye mine are just as bad, i have a pair there basically 3wks old.. they scream their bloody heads off when they don't see me, we have routines which helps and i will speak to them.

Right now as i type, they are running around with my one daughter in her room(using a small animals playpen) and bobbing for cheerios.
