What is the difference between cuckoo and barred? And would I get the same results if i put a black cock over the barred and cuckoo hens? I have heard all the pullets from this cross will be barred?

I don't know technically or genetically what the difference is exactly. Barred is cleaner more even looking. Cuckoo is a little wavy and not as crisp looking.
They do work the same. Its sex linked. Black rooster over barred or cuckoo gives you all barred males.
Hens can only carry one copy of the gene. They are barred/cuckoo or they aren't. They only can pass their gene to male offspring.
Roosters can carry no gene, one copy or two copies. Two copies are usually called double factored for barring/cuckoo.
The double factored males are lighter colored since they get a double dose of the white in their stripes. Males pass their genes to both offspring. If they are double factored all offspring will be barred/cuckoo. If single factored half get the gene and half don't.
When breeding a non barred/cuckoo rooster over barred/cuckoo hens its sex linked. Hens pass their gene to male offspring but can't to the female offspring. Non barred/cuckoo rooster of course passes none to either offspring so that's why it is sex linked.
