Vaulted x non vaulted skull newbie question

Hello im just wondering if i breed a vaulted skull polish chicken to a pure Rhode Island Red and White Leghorn or lets say non vaulted skull chicken. My question is will the vaulted skull pass down or can inherit visually by their 1st generation offsprings?

Vaulted skulls require two copies of the crested gene, so I'm doubting you'll get any vaulted skulls.

The opposite is confusing to me, as I breed all vaulted silkies, and occasionally, I'll have one unvaulted. I have to assume one of that chick's parents had parents where one was vaulted and the other was not. When I identify the culprit, I sell them as such.
