Cuckoo Marans, Are they loud?

I have never figured out what evolutionary advantage there may have been that would have lead to a prey animal loudly announcing to every predatory species within earshot that it has just produced something that could be made into a delicious meal.

My wife was also very noisy when she gave birth to our children. I asked her to quieten down but for some reason she just ignored me

Hi,
I just picked up two beautiful Cuckoo Marans and one is just screaming ! The other seems fine. Is this a cuckoo maran thing or is something wrong? She is eating, pooping, snacking and seems fine other then this intense sceaming... Everyone else (chickens) just looks at her like shes lost her mind.....
Thanks for any input. Can they get lonely and miss their old flock?

My 9 week old cuckoo maran honks like a goose- we also live in a neighborhood and I’m worried the neighbors won’t be too appreciative of the noise. I’m interested to know how this worked out!

Is she laying? That might be her egg song. A couple of my birds will just go on and on. I have to tell them Be quiet and lay your egg. They are quite loud but after they lay they are fine. Good luck hope you can keep her.
