Cuckoo Marans+Crevecoeur=???

I am on day 10 in the bator for Crevecoeur eggs. One of the cuckoo Marans roos is the father!

I can't imagine what these chicks will look like. One egg is from a non-bearded Crevecoeur and the other eggs are from a bearded one. The Marans is a feather legged one.

Any guess what coloring they will be? What do you get when you cross a black bird and a cuckoo one? Cuckoo Crevecoeurs would be pretty cool.

I've been thinking about this.

If the rooster is BB (two barring genes, right?) and then hen is not barred at all (b-) then the male chicks will be Bb and the female chicks will be B-?

So all the chicks will be barred?

Will I be able to sex them by a spot on the head? Do you think the crest bump will get in the way.

You answered your own question

Yes all the chicks will be barred and it will probably be hard to sex by spot (bump or no bump) but try it out and see if it works.
