I've actually had an excellent response already from buyers, and probably only have a few odd eggs left to mail out before Friday, November 14th if anyone is interested. Then, my fiance and I are flying to Vegas to get married. We'll be back to mailing more out on November 19th. I'll probably take my laptop computer with me, but might not be able to reply to anyone, and for certain won't be able to ship eggs then. Thanks everyone for the excellent response!

Here's some info I got off the web earlier, but you can search on google or yahoo and find out a lot more.

Fayoumis are fairly small active chickens that have been raised along the Nile River since times B.C. They are very fast maturing and pullets may start laying a small tinted (off-white) egg by 4 months of age. The cockerels will often be crowing by six weeks of age. Males reach a weight of 4.5 pounds and females reach 3.5.
These fowl are similar in plumage pattern to the European Campines. Legs may be willow green or slate blue. The neck is quite long and they have a very high, almost vertical, tail carriage.
They are flighty birds, but not aggressive to people and the males are fairly tolerant of other roosters.

My fiance calls them eagles, since their white heads remind him of bald eagles. We don't have but a small pen of them and have actually sold out of their eggs this week, or I think we have unless they lay more than I expect.

Will your egg prices be the same this coming spring? I can't get anymore eggs or birds till spring. If I can, I'd like to reserve 2 doz. of the Fayoumi. Let me know if that's ok. Do you ever come down to Texas or near Durant? I'd like to keep from the terrors of shipping if i can,(

) but if it's inconvenient I'll do shipping.
Thanks.

Actually, the spring prices will most likely be higher for some of the birds. We usually sell the Spitzhauben, Brabanter and Jersey Giants on ebay, and just started with the other birds. We're trying to pay the feed bill and buy better supplies for these birds with the money we make from the sale of the eggs, plus I think they all are all wonderful birds and more people need to get some.

Sorry, We don't usually travel more than an hour away from home and Durant is 4 hours away and the Texas border is over 2 hours away.

Oh, and we only have 8 Fayoumi hens & 2 roosters, so it would be extremely difficult to impossible to get 2 dozen eggs gathered within 3-5 days of shipping. We're only getting a couple of eggs a day from them right now. They really are a nice bird.

Thanks for the inquiry!

Yes, As long as the hens are still laying. They're laying very well now, but cold weather might shut them down. Just send me a pm to let me know what you want for sure, and when it gets closer to the 24th we can see.

To heck with the eggs, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I hope you have a beautiful wedding, and a wonderful life (with chickens).

Thank you very much. Yes, he's my enabler for chickens, but he's worse than I am on keeping too many. He's a sweetie and has put up with me for several years already. I told him when we started dating that I didn't know if I wanted to ever get married again, but if I did, it would have to be in Vegas with "Elvis" there. So, we're booked for an Elvis wedding & "Elvis" is supposed to sing 5 songs. I'm excited, even if I never really was that big of an Elvis fan
