Very nice! I'm impressed with her comb colour. In your earlier post I was concerned about the wings being too droopy, but that seems to have changed as she matured (or it was simply that one moment in time when the photo was snapped).

Yeah I think it was when the picture was snapped. I put her on top of thier box in the coop and she wanted down in the first one. Now to find her a boytoy

Cuckoo silkies are really nice looking but every one i have seen has a red comb is it impossible to get the red to a mulberry comb

I've seen girls with reasonable dark combs. Much harder to get on the boys for two reasons.
1) they can/do carry two copies of barring, meaning that the pigment impact is doubled
2) testosterone

SIngle barring would help, but ... they would not breed true.

Wrong... they just need more time to breed dark combs in

so u do indeed think they will get dark combs
cause i like the cuckoo colour and wanted to start this project i do beliave there is noo cuckoo silkies in canada so my question is what do i need to make them not buy them make them cause i know its just not gina happen in a couple years this is a long term project plzz help me

its gona take many years, but I´ll be here to provide you with genetic help..

first thing you need to do is create sex links, so we can focus on males(crossing over can only occure in Id/id+ B/b+ they are the only ones able to produce recombinants)

lucky for you this is the easy part.. get yourself a Black silkie roo and mate him to a Barred rock hen(cuckoo maran can also work), as stated before, this will produce six links, and easy ones to sex at hatch thanks to Fibromelanotic(Fm) the hens will have Black skin and the boys witll have clear/white skin. cull the girls and stay with the boys..

we will use henks calculator this time

this is the results..
