I was getting all kinds of confused, cause I don't have any cuckoos. Combining the Gray with Lav seemed to enhance the patterning in both of them on the offspring. My Lavs have feathers that if you look very closely at have some penciling on them. Grays obviously are quite patterned.
Thanks Guys!

I love the cuckoo pattern! I was ordering more eggs to go with my one cuckoo chick, but I thought DH might kill me so I decided to wait until spring, when we've cleared out some of the seramas we don't want to keep.
Question: I've noticed my chick and some of the ones on the previous page have toes which are not black. Is this normal? Thanks!
my last sets have been from Jenlynn4, as she lives in the same area as I do. I was about to order from renegaderidgefarm (sp?) before I had second thoughts, since I probably shouldn't have ordered BO eggs.
pink toes and red combs happen alot it has to do with the melanizers. we are trying to improve by breeding to the darkest skinned birds possible. I have some that are close I can't wait to see how they mature
I am finally giving in! I decided to bite the bullet and add cuckoo silkies to my silkie clan! My lavs are doing so well now I need a new project! Everyones cuckoos are GORGEOUS!
