I’d like to thank my Cochin bantam Zulu for sitting with me while I cried my sorrows away. Maybe we were both in mourning at the sudden loss of her sister Pompom. I’ve never been able to cuddle my older chickens because it made them so uncomfortable and they’d just leave, but I just picked her up and set her in my lap and she stayed, sitting there while I whimpered and whined. It just made this whole situation just a little bit better.

Of course there are always gonna be those few of any species that don’t like being cuddled, but I also think there’s some that can feel our pain in time of need. Enjoy Zulu and I’m sorry for y’all’s loss of Pompom.
