i got him with two barnvelder pullets and was told he was also a barnvelder. Can anyone tell me what he is? So I can decide if I’m gonna keep him or get rid of him.

He is a handsome boy, and there are a number of Barnvelder colors, one being Dark Brown which he may be exhibiting. He is not the expected Double Laced male coloring.

It's hard to see his conformation from this back angle. Can you get a side shot as well? What color is his chest? His legs look more white than the standard yellow, which is a flaw.

I think he may be a Dark Brown Barnevelder. Are you planning to show? Breed for sale? Or simply for hobby interest? I breed for egg color, so I forgive some color imperfections, but am always careful to sell my Barnevelders as "utility" quality. I get lovely terra cotta egg shell genes from my boy. You may wish to pair your boy over some nice hens and see what happens.

You can see some color varieties at the feathersite: https://feathersite.com/Poultry/CGA/Barnev/BRKBarnev.html

and further clear examples of all colors here:

He is all red no lacing at all. Someone also sis she maybe a marsh daisy because of his weird comb. I’m not sure what he is. I don’t show chickens I’m just in love with them all over my place.

Top photo is fuzzy for me...does he have a single comb? Or a crown?

Barnvelder must have single comb...with a comb discrepancy, color discrepancy, and shank (leg) discrepancy...I agree not a Barnevelder.

Post a pic of the hen too please. Maybe we can figure out what they are.

He may be a mix. You can get some weird comb shapes with mixed breeds, mixing the different comb types.
