I got home to find one of the cochin chicks that hatched this morning in what looks like bad shape. It doesn't appear to be in pain, but it's neck is back in the rigor pose when it tries to stand up, and then it falls over backward. When laying down, it's mostly on its back or side, and then it's fine. It wasn't anywhere it could have fallen, so I'm thinking maybe another chick stepped on it or something. It can move legs, wings, and head, so it's not a broken back.
One of my quail fell and did the same thing, but it got better within an hour. It's been almost two hours and no change.
I tried giving it some liquid multivite, and water, and have it isolated on a heating pad.
So.. do I wait and see what happens, or cull it now?
I'm just..
Stupid baby chick!!
