Culling a long time rooster. Is there a better time of day?

... I don’t think much of myself. I am a doormat in all areas of my life.
But thank you for making me feel dirty and even more crappy about myself.

Well, that's a pity.

But obviously has nothing to do with my post which was meant as a reminder that you are well worthy of not being threatened, flagged, chased, assaulted or hurt in any other way.

Why in the world would this reminder make you "...feel dirty and even more crappy about myself."?

Edit: You don't have to answer my question as there seems to be some underlying issue and I do not want to intrude. Best wishes.

chickens are blind in dark so I would definitely do it at night. Wear gloves, long sleeves, sneak in the coop and crab him and do whatever you want to. The ladies might sense of a bit but will totally forget about him next morning.
Good luck:)

We have a rooster that is in charge of 18 pullets and hens. He has worn out his welcome. My legs are scarred beyond belief. I have been trying everything under the sun for the last 3 months with no success. I have lumps where he has spurred me that are over a month old.
My question is is there a better time of day to cull him? I was thinking at bedtime so it doesn’t disrupt the ladies too much but I didn’t know.
We bought ours about 2.5 years ago and tried to get sexed chicks. We ended up with one rooster. My husband has had experience with rude roosters and stated no worried if he attacks me or my daughter ...Roo is gone...Well it happened and he (husband) got him at dusk while roosting. We are all much happier now, including our hen girls! :)

That isn't true for unfertikilized eggs, and it still really isn't true for fertilized eggs. When they're a day old egg, there's barelyeven a clump of cells, much less a real bird, not to mention said clump of cells has never had a chance to experience life, so it won't recognize anything when you crack an egg open.

1 dz eggs = 1 dz boneless and skinless chickens. Serve baked (spanish omelette style) scrambled, fried, broiled and or boiled.

Mine tried his luck with the wife once, I heard cussing and saw her kick him like a soccer ball. He’s left her alone since.
He’s never bothered me, but I do the chores so he’s more used to me.
I have a processing spot I use for the meat chickens and rabbits, the layers run is next to it and it has never bothered any of them.
