Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

Thank you! I can’t wait to see them grow out. I’m hoping for at least one rooster.
We got 3 lavender orps last September to grow up with my one hatchling. They are beautiful, and one turned out to be a cockerel. He is gorgeous. You will love them. Great personalities. Well, the cockerel is a bit of a pill, but he may mellow out with time.
Afternoon everyone!

Thanks for the cup o' joe, Val 👍

Another disappointing day...my eggs didn't arrive! :( I guess that USPS is using the excuse COVID 19 ....if they don't get here by tomorrow, they are going to have a 'stroke' when I ask them to reimburse me for the loss....12 eggs valued in excess of $200

Everyone have a pleasant evening! :)
I'm glad the eggs I ordered were not that expensive! Yikes! I only had one hatch out of 13 because it took 5 days for them to get through the post office, and I'm sure they were tossed into the bins and trucks. :rant

Yeah, these are coming from Upstate NY, they shipped last Thursday, I thought they might be here Monday, eventhough the arrival date was Wednesday! Normally I don't have eggs shipped but can't find any of these birds locally or semi locally.

I sure hope they work out for you and hatch. Are they pheasants?

That is one gorgeous bird!!! :love Do you eat their eggs, or just keep them for ornamental decoration in the yard?
You can eat their eggs. I'm just a hobbyist breeder. I have 9 of these already but getting some new blood with these eggs.
You can not free range pheasants, either they are gone, or predators will get them. I do hatch a (few) :lau every year and sell the juveniles in the fall. Right now have 248 of my own bird eggs in 3 cabinet incubators. :thand I said I wasn't going to hatch very many this year! :gigI've already hatched out 53 so far from the first batch I set.

Holy moly!!! That's a lot of incubating! I'd be a nervous wreck. I hope you'll post photos of the chicks.

Good morning, all! Finally getting caught up on the chats

It's been super busy over here. We got most of the land seeded over the weekend. I see grass already starting to pop up :ya

Went on a nice hike yesterday. 80 degrees (F) with a slight breeze, it was heavenly. The wildflowers are starting to show again, which is by far one my most favorite things about spring.

Have a lovely day!!
Sounds like a great day!
Yes, that's how I do it. I never candle eggs under a broody.

Some people candle and take over when a chick is struggling. I trust the mama hen.
Me too!

I hope your eggs show up tomorrow Sean. :rantUSPS

They don't care what they cost, and they won't pay out on birds or eggs that are shipped and destroyed.
