Good morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee, Debby and the breakfast, Marie!

Setting up a brooder in the big chicken coop today. This will be the first time for brooding them outside. They will have a mama heating pad and a black ceramic heat lamp, in two different areas, for the first couple days until I figure out which they prefer. I know everyone says the mama heating pad will be all they need, but I haven't tried it before, so I want to be sure they are warm enough out there.

I think they will be so much happier than in a tote, or a dog kennel in the garage. They will be able to see the other chickens running around. It would be perfect if Girlie Girl took an interest in them and I could put her in there to raise them. I'm sure that's a whole lot of wishful thinking.

I'm not a very good photographer and only have a small phone to take pictures.
My girls are roaming around thier old home, now it's a good play scratch area and hideaway. They're starting a mud bath underneath this old coop and having a good time as I write this.

I think you did great! I love how they are lined up like chorus girls. All they need are some tutus. They look like happy healthy girls, too.

I have the same coop. I started out with it with eight ISA Browns. It worked and I added a ten by ten dog kennel around it. At this time I have moved it out and plan to use it for new chicks.
