Cup o' Joe and Tea Too

That is really great news! And coming off his blood thinner is really great. Does your husband have Atrial Fibrillation?

My DH has that as well. He has a defibrillator implanted in his chest, and is on blood thinners for life. They thought he would be needing a heart transplant about10 years ago, but his heart has improved greatly with the medications, and his daily activity. When he went in to the hospital with congestive heart failure, his heart was operating at 18%, and it's now 50 or 60%. He is doing quite well.

I hear you with the "keeping one foot in front of the other". I hate it when they get tangled up. Honestly, I call that "doing the next indicated thing". :D

It is nice to know someone knows what I'm talking about.:highfive:

Yes, he has atrial fibrillation. That is what caused his three strokes.

Yes, that is the danger. Also congestive heart failure. I'm not so sure I'd be excited about getting off the blood thinners. They are keeping the strokes at bay. But, I'm not a doctor, so I know you will both listen to someone wiser than me. :love

He will be coming off the blood thinners in regard to the "Watchman" that was implanted. The 'Watchman" has tissue starting to cover the face of the "Watchman" which will stop the clots from forming.

I'm doing okay. Just keep trying to keep one foot in front of the other. In other words, one day at a time.

My husband had a TEE today to see his Watchman. The physician was very pleased with the results. The tissue is growing over the watchman. He will be coming off his blood thinner. which is great.

Realistically things are looking up.
This is great news! I hope everything goes well for you both. I know a bit about this from experience with my mom and it’s amazing how much better she feels. I think a lot of that is the knowledge that she’s got a device to help, so if her body fails she’s still ok. That has to be a huge relief.
