Well....what's up for me? Nothing much unless we are talking about chickens.

I have a broody, and that's a good thing. I need a few more hens. But will I get hens or cockerels???

Right now I'm dealing with a cockerel and a rooster. That seems to be a problem, so I put the cockerel in his own pen with his own coop. I'd give him a couple hens, but he is a teenager and would be too hard on them. So he is on his own for a while, but happy to be away from Cooper, the main rooster, for now.

The new cockerel, Ralphie, is a Buff Orpington, and that is what I would prefer to have in my flock, so there is my dilemma. I have a good rooster, Cooper, and that is always a gift. But he is not a BO. He is the one in my avatar photo. He is definitely a beauty and good to the girls.

At least for now, I don't have to make any decisions, nor do I have to try to integrate. I only have 13 hens, and I don't think that is enough for two roosters. However, they are having a hard time sitting on fertilized eggs, so what's up with that?

Oh, and my munchkin kitty went missing for several hours today. Gave us a heart attack. But, with much prayer and petition, he showed up, so that drama had a good ending. Who knows where he was. He's a kitty. They do strange stuff sometimes. He has never done this before, and he is 14 (at least), but you never know when the independent streak will hit, I guess.

All my problems are animal related. Everything else is awesome. lol

 

[Ladies-Eight]

I am still alive, but have not been feeling good. And the heat sucks up my energy when I go outside. I have decided to sell my goats, which I really hadn't planned on. But tired of cleaning the barn and goat house and carrying around 50 pound bags of feed. Plus, Hubby goes on vacation in Canada every year. It has been a very long time since I have had a real vacation.
Hubby just recently had his 68th birthday. It's time to travel while we can.
