Cures for respiratory illness

Just from the phone conversation, vet says tylan 50 works for most respritory infections. But will have to get back to me on doing ecostomy on dead rooster. Thinking no time to spare now on injections, another one down and a sex link this time.

Tylan might work if it's mycoplasma, but it won't work if it's E.coli or pseudomonas aeruginosa. Probably worth trying I guess... did the vet recommend a dose?

So the tylan worked on my sebrite rooster and D'anver hens. Swelling in eyes and nasal discharge went away. No applying to 4 leghorns, two sex links and one barred rock. Hopefully I captured it but curious to know how long should I keep these birds quarintined before letting them back with other flock?

Glad they are better. You might want to read up on mycoplasma in poultry.
