Curious… breed and sex??

Hello!
I normally buy pullets only but really wanted a barred rock and they had a mix of straight run. From pictures I picked one that I thought was a Barred Rock pullet. Now I’m not so sure…

The chick is somewhere between 2-3 weeks old. Comb coming in, mostly black with some gray feathers on chest and darker feet. No spotting, feather length and shape seem to look like the pullets… I’m just not sure if sex or breed. Just curious.

Yeah that would be helpful. It looks like a cockerel though going off of comb size.

I can't really tell the breed since the chick is still young, but I'm pretty sure that is a cockerel. If it seems to be jumping around more and pushing the others around that's another indicator.

I can't really tell the breed since the chick is still young, but I'm pretty sure that is a cockerel. If it seems to be jumping around more and pushing the others around that's another indicator.

Out of all the chicks I've raised, I've never found this to be a consistent pattern. Actually, at this age my most rambunctious have been the pullets. But again, this is down to the temperament and/or breed of the bird

True. I must be getting the breeds with more aggressive cockerels, lol!
