Curious chicken cracked shell of egg due to hatch in two days

I moved mama to a safe location. There are five eggs and all of the undamaged eggs have movement I could feel when I handled them. I held them to my ear and could hear them moving too! Very cool! The waxed egg was cheeping up a storm!!!! And when I locked up the coop I could still hear it peeping. There is still hope!! I won’t do anything to it until the other eggs start to show signs of hatching, then I may check out the wax to see if it needs help. I kinda think even though the wax is thicker than the shell, it’s also softer. But it’s hard to say where it will try to pip too.

Anyone awake out there?? I woke up to babies! Two had fully hatched. The damaged one is still alive and has pushed off the wax, but has not broken the membrane so I picked a small hole in the membrane. The beak was where I put the hole. There was no blood. I think it’s ready to hatch but stuck in there. Should I peel back the membrane further?

Little guy was shrink wrapped but all of the yolk was absorbed so I helped him at. I hope he pulls through.

Now I am stressing about the other two eggs. One had chipped a piece of the shell off, but the membrane was still intact. The other had done nothing and I coudln't hear anything. I tried to candle but I had to go to work and now I have to sit and stress over whether or not the chicks are dying or hatching while I'm at work.

I think your poor little smashed baby will make it just fine. He looks good! And adorable.

I... I thought the photo of the wax egg was a baked potato. I think little Squash (that’s his name now, I don’t make the rules) will be just fine.
