Curious clearish nodule protruding on hen's comb. Any ideas?

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone knew what this growth of sorts towards the back of my girl's comb might be? I noticed it yesterday, it's clear and long. I'm hoping it's just a extra bit of skin or something simple like that. The black stuff all over her face is just dirt. Thank you
