Ohh reallyAll I’ve seen at day 3-4 is a dark spot and start of veins spiderwebbing.
To each their own. Day 10 is definite development vs no development.
Well ive read that a hen comes off the nest every day for food and water for upto an hour (sounds bit long that ) putting the eggs into a cooling off period i think its called, new incubators like mine have a setting that u can set to allow for this to try inhibit natural hatching behaviours .. so i think you can use this little window to candle every day if u wantI candle mine at day four as well as I can’t wait to see if anything is developing!Traditionally people candle day 7/14/18. I also candle day 10. These are the days that I mark on the egg. Any other candling is just for fun and are not marked on the egg. You can candle as little or as much as you want technically.

Eyeballs???I did mine at 5 and all hell did not break loose. I could very clearly see the babies, I wish I had taken pics tbh, 5 gorgeous eyeballs and a perfect spiderweb of veins! I think it's just personal preference, I get the argument that it's really hard to see, but if you are moderately willing to be flexible with darker eggs I don't see the problem, lol!
Well yes thats why im here ranting hoping someone confirms my suspicionI'm sure your egg source is just feeling self conscious about the possibly of them giving you so many duds. lol.
I read its daily for upto 1 hour until a certain amount of days .. im going to guess uptil lockdown? Ill go look for the article.Hens definitely get off the nest to eat and poop - nasty nasty 'I've been saving this up all day' poops. I'm not sure how long they are off the nest for tbh but I believe it is daily.
