Curious with many questions

This is where I am thinking of putting it, after the mess of weeds is taken down a bit. I was thinking Plymouth Rock because they are beautiful looking (to me) and seem friendly. What do you all think is a good starter type? I don't have any pets. I am allergic to cats and dogs, and have never had one. Lately I've been kind of craving animal interaction beyond bird watching, so I'd like to be able to touch and hold the chickens if possible:

Welcome we thought the prefabs would be too small so made our own. Then we realized all our mistakes in that one made a list and built new ones. Suggestion: in the coop if you go with an elevated one, make removeable trays and put cheap floor tile on them. Cleanup is a breeze if you go with a smaller coop. But give them ample roving room outside in the run.

Thank you so much for the reply and photos. I was thinking of just 3 chickens, and putting it in a bigger area that would be fenced off to give them a lot more free roaming space. It is between a garage, a fence and another garage (pictured above). I was mostly wondering if the interior space is enough for 3 hens. I was thinking of Plymouth Rocks.
If they will only sleep in there but be outside the coop for the majority of the day then it will make a nice place to sleep or lay eggs. Mine sleep good in it and the hens lays their eggs in the coop that isn't theirs. They know the difference somehow. Mine are free range and only go in at night besides the 2 hens currently in there. It would make a good area for their food and water if they are outside of it during the day. When it rains sometimes mine go into the top for shelter. It's easy to move. I do so myself by dragging it gently to different parts of the yard. I also have pine shavings inside the top with de. Ants, maggots, and termites hage been an issue due to the poop, wood, and shelter. The de helped rid of all of those.

If you are going to be using up that whole space between the 2 building's, than a part of it would be over-lapping your neighbor's yard. You might want to check to make sure it's ok with them.

Hi everyone. I have been stalking this forum for a couple of months. We are thinking about getting just a few chickens and live in the middle of Manchester, NH. We have a yard, and (what I believe to be anyway) a perfect spot for a small coop. I was just on Craigslist and saw this. My big question is, will this make a happy home for 3 chickens? If we take this plunge, we want to start minimally, and from what I read, 3 is the minimum for happy animals.

Welcome to BYC!! this coop is FINE for 3-5 birds, I had four girls in one similar to this. [but got another four and needed a SERIOUS upgrade]

What do you all think of this one? I have no idea how I'd move it from the seller's house though.

It look's like it could fit into the back of a pickup truck, but you would need help to get it in and out. Also, chickens dig and so do predator's, so watch out for the bottom of the coop and make it safe.
