Curled toes

Will curled toes in chicks adversely impact a hen as an adult ?

Hello and Welcome To BYC! You might want to post in the Emergencies forum about the chicks, pictures would be helpful, many cases of curled toes can be corrected or helped by taping etc. https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures Whether or not it affects them as adults depends on how bad they are, mild ones don't seem to make much difference, really bad ones can cause problems with sores etc when they walk or try to scratch like chickens do or even give them major problems walking or roosting.

Yes, it does depend on how badly the toes are curled. Many birds can over come the worst of afflictions and live wonderful lives. So I would give this one a chance and see how it goes. If it impacts her living well, you might consider putting her down.

It has been a couple of day now and I was just wondering how the curled toe was doing and how well the boot worked out for you ??
