I have 3 peachicks roughly 4 weeks old. The pied one's feathers are curling a bit. Is this normal or strange?? I have never had peachicks before. They eat gamebird starter. Thanks.

Anyone? Just wondering if this is some sign of something I'm doing wrong or if it's normal. The tips of it's feathers are curling. It's cute but the other two don't have this. They are eating game bird starter. I'm just worried, want to know if it's ok. They act normal. They've been indoors for the first month but I've moved them out so they can get some sunshine. They did not like the change and continue to huddle in the back of the pen. They went from a 2ft x 3ft to a 3ft x 6ft and it's freaking them out. They were with 2 turkey poults of the same age but I had to remove the turkeys as they were trampling the peachicks with the stress of the move. Thanks for any input.

We usually see this with a few young birds, (peafowl & pheasants) that are inside or in a covered pen. Once they get a little wet from a rain it corrects itself.

What you can do is on a warm day mist them down with the hose or even a spray bottle of water- this will get them to clean and oil their feathers on a nice warm day. Then when it does rain they will be more water resistant.
