Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

I became a fan of Rooney Mara after her performance in "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". Because of that, I really anticipated seeing this movie.

Today we saw "Jobs" - good movie. It was well acted, time flew by, and the movie held my attention. Ashton Kutcher was surprisingly

good in the role. I give it my recommendation - man, he was a bit of a p****.

The Mortal Instruments (M in Australia, I think it's PG-13 in the US)
The first half was great! The second half wasn't as great. I have read the book and still enjoyed it! It'll be interesting to see how they go in the second movie. That acting was good, but the soundtrack and editing weren't all that great. Still quite enjoyable with a good sprinkling of action!

hurray!! I saw yet another 'coming of age,' movie The Spectacular Now. High school certainly has changed since I went. Dialogue seemed spot on, actors were very good, though I didn't know any of them. The complexities of their lives struck home. Unfortunately the near constant use of their 'flasks,' seems to be the element I remember most and wish I didn't. I'm not a prude - family and friends drink - I don't care for the taste so am the malted type. At lease they weren't smoking - guess it's hard to do both at once.

Being as its my favorite scene of any movie an the movie was filmed right by where this theater now stands, I put the opening scene to The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia up there..

That's Kristy McNichol playing the part of Amanda Child. "Back off Mr. before I blow your punkin of your red neck!"
