Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

It will definitely be a blockbuster, but I'd be surprised if it breaks Avatar's record of $2,788,000,000 worldwide. A lot of people were predicting that the Avengers would become the top grossing film of all time as well and while it did open to record numbers in the long run it has only grossed $1,519,600,000. Certainly a lot of money but still $1,268,400,000 short of Avatar. Of course if you adjust for inflation, Gone With the Wind blows all other movies, including Avatar. away.
Yeah. I think The Force Awakens will at least be #2--because multiple generations have grown up with the movies and a lot of the original characters will be in it. But we'll see. Whether or not it breaks the record, I'm sure it'll still be great.

Just saw a commercial for a follow on to Independence day. Loved that movie! The speech at the end makes the hair on my neck stand up! "... We will not go quietly into the night..." Looking fwd to the sequel. Will most likely see that one in a theater vice waiting for the DVD.

Every movie we watch that has an inspirational speech, Sugar Monkey and I turn to each other and say/mouth "today, we celebrate our Independence Day!". It's our gold standard for inspirational speeches in the movies.

I so want to see Pride+ Prejudice+Zombies. Love me a zombie flick.

Man... Thanks @donrae I wondered if I was the only one... I'm retired military and have always been very patriotic... Glad I'm apparently not the only one. I hadn't heard about the latest zombie movie, but love them too. I look at them as training films.

My son(adult) saw Spectre yesterday and didn't like it at all - action great, BUT Daniel Craig the most non-acting, actor in Hollywood. How did he ever get chosen for his first Bond movie? He liked Dave Batista(sp?) who was Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy. So did I.

I agree with you about Daniel Craig (even though I thought Spectre was entertaining). I stated in my earlier post on Spectre that I was not a fan of Craig as Bond. I personally think Sean Connery was the best Bond with Pierce Brosnan running a close second.

To all my fellow Idris fans: Did y'all know that BBC America is airing a one time episode of Luther tomorrow night? We get to see a little of a pickup of what happens after we last saw hm keft there standing on the bridge.

At least I think it's a one timer. I have the DVR set already. I was catching up on my Graham Norton recordings and saw the commercial, so IDK much more than that. If I hadn't watched Graham, I'd have missed it entirely!
