Deedee, beagle field trials. At the present time, I only compete. At one time I judged - a lot - the Princess would say entirely too much.

After a while time away from home, disgruntled owners/handlers, poor quality hounds, and too many nights in motel rooms got to me. At one time I was somewhat obsessive about this sport. I literally thought, breathed, and ate it - sometimes to the detriment of my family. I've spoken with my kids about my 'absences', and they assure me that they always knew that I would be for them if needed, but I have regrets. Twenty twenty hindsight is a marvelous thing.

In 2005 I had the outstanding brace trial futurity beagle in the country - she was fifth generation home bred/raised/trained. This year I have a male who is in contention for the field champion consistency award. Tomorrow is the final trial - he needs to win and several others need to either not win or place for this to happen. There are actually 7 or 8 hounds in contention for this award. 5 trials have been run so far (dog classes and b+tch classes), and Jay has a win, third, and fourth in the previous five trials. Several others have a win and places - no dog has two wins.

Good luck SOurland!!

Drumstick Diva, you are toally right-- nothing will ever replace th e original GOdzilla movies. Works of art that required an active imagination. WHile I don't know that I have seen "the Original" movie, I have senes that still run thru my head that include the funky turtle thing in a face off battle. Ya, been a loooooongtime since I've seen those.

Was hoping for a good review of the current movie. WIll skip that one.

Early report on XMEN - Days of future past. My son and his friends just saw it tonight. My son (28) said he would give it 7 stars out of 10. I told him the ratings go to 4. He recalculated and made it
3 7/8 stars out of 4. I should mention he hates the Xmen movies and said none of them were any good. I take THIS as a very good sign . I will see the movie with my brother and SON tomorrow.

XMEN: Days of Future Past , whew!! what a movie!! I mostly don't know who or what was going on BUT, I was mesmerized by this movie. I give it FIVE out of the usual 4 star rating.

I'm told this is the 7th. X-Men movie. I think I saw 2 or 3 over the past few years. I sorta liked them a little but, didn't know the characters. In one, I am certain one of main guys - Patrick Stewart I think- exploded at the end. Yet, his character was definitely IN this movie. There may be a very good explanation for his previous death-& reappearance here, maybe I just hallucinated from the fumes of phony popcorn butter.

I totally enjoyed this movie, so did my brother ,who did not want to see it, and my son who was seeing it for the second time. I'm not certain what happened at the end but, it allows for another chapter which is to be called X-Men: Apocalypse . Really want to see this again after I do some research on who/what the characters are/do.

This has to be a good movie because I can't get it out of my mind. Most movies, however entertaining, I forget before the credits finish rolling.

BTW if you stay thru the credits there is a bonus scene for another movie or character. I have no idea what it was about. Surely some fan boy will know.

Sour thank you for your comments on "Belle". Due to the long weekend, my brother and I are going to see" Chef," which just popped up at another theatre. This is a movie my brother wants to see, me, not so much.

Good to hear the Xmen movie is a good one!!

Helps to have the first few movies on DVD and watch them enough to know the characters VERY well. THerie personalities and heir special powers are key to understanding plot and sublte humor. Adding new characters must be very confusing if you don't have a good handle on the original cast of characters.
