Saw Guardians today, the 3D version. I gave it a 9 on imdb. I thought it was really funny, didn't take itself too seriously, and the effects were made nicely. The story was good too, or at least it carried the action well. Everyone in the theater were laughing all the time, that raccoon sure is funny.
Just popping in to say I just saw Guardians a second time having coaxed my brother to come along. He really enjoyed it but, not as much as I did We both love Groot. I am hoping they will come out with the character toys at Xmas, I hope to find a dancing Groot - I can think of 2 people besides me that would love to have one.
Our (grown) kids talked my wife and I into seeing Guardians of the Galaxy and we loved it. Very entertaining and funny. Definitely worth the price of admission, at least in the 2D version.

Saw Guardians a week or so ago. I never quite felt like the 2 leads really had any sparks going - but I could have watched Drax and Groot all day long. :-) They should do a spin off with just those 2 and the raccoon.

oh YES, They were my favorites too. They already have some of the figures out for sale but, people seem to be holding out for a dancing baby groot, one that really dances. Marvel is allegedly coming out with one that will but, it will cost a pretty penny.

A second Guardians of the Galaxy is ''under construction". I would imagine it will involve searching for Quill's father.

Everyone had a background story BUT, Groot. I'm curious to discover where he came from, if there are a lot more like him, and how he fell into company with Rocket.

Today we saw "If I Stay". Sort of my feeling about this one - 'If I stay'. I stayed but never forgot that it was a movie. The Princess bought into it, and I now have a handkerchief loaded with make up and tears. Chick flick and not a great one. No swearing, no drugs, no violence - all positives - just did not cut it for me. 2 stars at best.

No movies for me the last two weeks. Apparently AMC has initiated a new policy- no movies before noon (when they used to be $6.50) they start at times like 1:30 pm and later through the day. Our last bus pickup is 2:30 pm so I would have to end up walking the 5.5 miles home. I can do that one way but, it will be getting dark a lot sooner before long , sidewalks few & far between and don't know the weather till the last minute.

I checked the other two AMC's within driving distance and they are doing the same thing. Apparently only morning movies on weekends. I know they didn't have many people at the early shows and mainly it was seniors like me. I guess we don't buy enough concession stuff - I never do. Sorry I renewed my AMC membership. I wish they would give us ONE weekday when we could see early movies, I don't think that would kill them.

My brother sometimes takes me to the farther out shows on Sundays but, he doesn't want to see most of the movies I do. Oh bother. I'm down for now but, not defeated .I'll think of something. Meanwhile on rainy days I can watch movies vicariously through Sour and Princess.

Diva, that's too bad. I really hope you can figure out something, I know how much you enjoy your movies. How about finding a neighbor with a car that would want to join you for a movie?

Just bought Edge of Tomorrow or Live Die Repeat on Itunes since it got such great reviews. I'm almost ready to quit Rotten Tomatoes. It took me three attempts to watch the whole thing. I kept falling asleep and having to figure out where I left off to re-start the next evening. Parts were amusing and entertaining, but overall it left me flat. No "Wow!" It just seems like a movie about a video game...
