Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Well I saw "The Drop" this afternoon. It was pretty much a let down - maybe I've just seen too many mafia/crime story movies and this was far from the best. Only 1 hr.46 minutes but seemed like much more. The pit bull puppy was a scene stealer but, didn't add anything to the movie. Really wish I had saved the money and napped all afternoon instead. I'd rate it 2 stars with most of it going to the puppy. The only thing my brother had to say was "cute puppy."

Saw Maze Runner this weekend. Wish I'd waited to rent it instead.
Best description, Predictable.

Sour I just saw "When the Game Stands Tall," it was everything you said it was.

I am not a sporty person, I understand baseball but it's too slow and I don't care for all the scratching and spitting. Hockey & soccer are blood sports to me. I really, totally hate football - when I've caught sight of it on TV, its a gang of men, that jump on top of another gang and they just lay there in a pile. They can have 42 seconds left to play but, somehow it goes on for hours. BORING!!!!!!

Watching this movie, with a focus on actual football running, blocking, tackling etc. all strung together and staying in motion was really exciting to me. I loved the characters, I loved the plot, I loved the actual football stuff. I may have come close to tears which is about all you get out of me. I only CRY when some poor animal gets killed.

But, all in all this was a very good movie and I do recommend it heartily. I still can't believe football could be exhilarating.

Oh Jim Caviezel wasn't giving off "hot" vibes in the movie like he does on tv but, he was very good as a coach, and I love Laura Dern

PS Basketball does told my attention, it's fast and I can follow what is going on. My interest peaked with Michael Jordan & Da Bulls. I can still recall the sweat glistening off his muscled sloping shoulders. Aaaahhhh. That's it for now

I would not characterize soccer as a blood sport. Sure, the players might react like their leg has just gotten chopped off, but it really is fishing for a penalty most of the time. I do enjoy watching it, but sometimes the players are just acting like big babies.

I took the kids to see the Maze Runner. I thought it was very well done. My youngest read all 3 books and wanted to see the movie. I figure if he read them all, then he should get to see the movie.

We went of see the Maze Runner and it turned out to be quite entertaining, despite that fact that we knew how it was going to turn out.
