Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

TNTCHIX I know he's in the movie (Samuel Jackson) but, is he in the character of Nick Fury? I remember reading years ago, that Samuel appears in more movies than any other actor. He is one very busy man. He gets angry when people mistake him for Laurence Fishbourne
I know but since Avengers I only see him as Fury LOL

Another night, another Netflix viewing "Jack Reacher" starring Tom Cruise. - I have to say he is still at the top of his game. I have to give this 5 stars out of the usual 4. Darn him. Actress Rosamund Pike who I hated in "Gone Girl," was great in this. Now I think I like her. That must be what they call "acting." Who would have thunk?
Book was way better.

It was entertaining, but didn't quite live up to the book. I liked Tom in the role, but the character of Jack Reacher is described as being about 6'6" and weighing 260lbs in the books, and Tom really doesn't live up to that. But he did a good job in the role, he compensated for the size with an enormous drive. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more of the books being made into movies.
They kinda mashed up a couple books for that one.

Lee Childs himself said that Reacher's size is more of a metaphor for him being an unstoppable force, and in that regard I think Tom captured the character well. The books have all been very entertaining, although with the last one I struggled a bit. I think I still haven't finished it. Maybe I should try again.
6'6" 260lbs, meat hooks for hands, never starts it but sure as heck finishes things, never leave anyone behind - kind of hero. I adore Reacher as a character. He is so complex.
That is how I could never see how Tom was going to pull it off and I don't really think he did.
Camera angle helped though fot the height differences. LOL

Which book is your fave? Mine is Persuader.

I've liked all of them, except for the last one, like I said. I don't know what it was about it I disliked, but it was somehow annoying. I don't really remember the titles, when I found the books I read them pretty much back to back a few years ago. After that I've tried to read the new one's immediately when they came out. I liked the extended plot of his life that was developing in the last few ones, and somehow there seemed to be too little of that in the last book, maybe that's why I disliked it. I'll have to finish it at some point to see if it is continued.

I had no idea there was a series of Jack Reacher books. That is probably why I enjoyed the movie so much. I did think at times that even though he was a great fighter- his BIGGER opponents were also, I couldn't see how he could thrash them so well.

I dated a guy 6'7" 256 lbs. and yeah, he had hands like meat hooks but, preferred to push women around than risk getting the heck knocked out of him by someone his size.

I just finished the movie "JOE" (Netflix) starring Nicholas Cage. Enjoyed this one very much. It's been a long time since I've seen Nick in a movie deserving of his talent. He's been in so many awful ones I'm very careful about the ones I do pick.

I watched Lucy with Scarlett Johansson on a Netlix DVD last night. I found it to be a fascinating movie--actually better than I expected it to be.
