I know but since Avengers I only see him as Fury LOLTNTCHIX I know he's in the movie (Samuel Jackson) but, is he in the character of Nick Fury? I remember reading years ago, that Samuel appears in more movies than any other actor. He is one very busy man. He gets angry when people mistake him for Laurence Fishbourne
Book was way better.Another night, another Netflix viewing "Jack Reacher" starring Tom Cruise. - I have to say he is still at the top of his game. I have to give this 5 stars out of the usual 4. Darn him. Actress Rosamund Pike who I hated in "Gone Girl," was great in this. Now I think I like her. That must be what they call "acting." Who would have thunk?
They kinda mashed up a couple books for that one.It was entertaining, but didn't quite live up to the book. I liked Tom in the role, but the character of Jack Reacher is described as being about 6'6" and weighing 260lbs in the books, and Tom really doesn't live up to that. But he did a good job in the role, he compensated for the size with an enormous drive. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more of the books being made into movies.
6'6" 260lbs, meat hooks for hands, never starts it but sure as heck finishes things, never leave anyone behind - kind of hero. I adore Reacher as a character. He is so complex.Lee Childs himself said that Reacher's size is more of a metaphor for him being an unstoppable force, and in that regard I think Tom captured the character well. The books have all been very entertaining, although with the last one I struggled a bit. I think I still haven't finished it. Maybe I should try again.
That is how I could never see how Tom was going to pull it off and I don't really think he did.
Camera angle helped though fot the height differences. LOL
Which book is your fave? Mine is Persuader.
