Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Interstellar came out in November last year.

You're right that it's got some pretty out-there ideas, they really made me think :p blew my mind when I saw it in cinemas. I particularly love the soundtrack & visual effects, and the quantum physics is something I've always had an interest in. Had a bit of a weak ending though, at least compared to my other favourite Nolan films. (all Christopher Nolan's movies that I've seen have been legendary and most have made my top ten.

I've heard Christian  Bale   is one of the most difficult actors to work with  BUT,  DARN  he is GOOD !!!  I loved him in "The Prestige",  and  "3:10 to Yuma," and many others that my brains won't recall for a few days or more.

:love

(entertaining thread, I've been going through and reading the reviews :p I haven't seen anything new recently, though I did watch 'Pacific Rim' and 'Bridge to Terabithia' which my friend gave me. I enjoyed them both - bawled like a baby in the latter lol - but wouldn't rank either as a top ten)

don't get me wrong tho I really loved it :p my post before probably disproportionately highlights the things I didn't like. I can understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea (past, pre-physics me probably wouldn't have got its appeal) but it's one of my favourite movies now
The main thing was just that the ending was a bit disappointing, the prestige & inception had better full on endings, like ones that kept me busy thinking for days afterwards :p

Yeah :p

Anyone seen Mad Max?

I did see "Black Mass," Sunday with Johnny Depp and Benedict Cumberbatch. Acting was very good among the main characters. Ben's part was so small, he could have phoned in it. A disappointment to me. My brother loved the movie and gave it 3.5 stars (out of 4). and said it was factually accurate because he has a long interest in gangsters - who knew?

I thought for a gangster, mafia movie it was slow and plodding. For all the reviews saying what a savage temper "Whitey" Bulgar had, It was tame next to the older stuff, "The Godfather," "Eastern Promises," "American Gangster,."and " The Departed." I think what put me off was it's semi-documentary style.
