Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Eggsy yah _ the "save the cheerleader" heroes - it had only 41% on the tomatometer but had gone against Grey's Anatomy new show and some other biggie, but was so confusing and so many, many commercials I wanted to bail.

I think Mad Max - the newest one is out for rentals
I completely forgot about this! Good to know. I think I can rent it on directv(?) if I'm not mistaken. I think I want to watch all the others again before I rent it.
I did see "Black Mass," Sunday with Johnny Depp and Benedict Cumberbatch. Acting was very good among the main characters. Ben's part was so small, he could have phoned in it. A disappointment to me. My brother loved the movie and gave it 3.5 stars (out of 4). and said it was factually accurate because he has a long interest in gangsters - who knew?

I thought for a gangster, mafia movie it was slow and plodding. For all the reviews saying what a savage temper "Whitey" Bulgar had, It was tame next to the older stuff, "The Godfather," "Eastern Promises," "American Gangster,."and " The Departed." I think what put me off was it's semi-documentary style.
Thanks for the info here! I kind of expected a little slow but I didn't know about the Doc-style. I'm cool with that though, I love documentaries but if I go to see a movie movie and it turns out to be a documentary instead, I'm usually slightly annoyed at first. I have to be in a documentary mood. I do not know what Eastern Promises is! So, maybe that's something I should check out? I love gangster movies, documentaries, books. Any true crime stuff, really. I thought The Departed was fantastic. I hope this film taming down his temper doesn't put me off, though. That's what's so fascinating about him. At least, to me. I'm completely fascinated by how the mind works and what goes through the heads of people who do such terrible things to other human beings. Like, what in their mind, makes them think/act/ do the way they do and it's completely normal to people like that? It's mind blowing to me. I think if I hadn't decided on my current work, I should have gone to school to become a Forensic Psychiatrist. Or even better, a criminal behavior analyst. Thanks for the honest, detailed review. I can't wait to see what we're going to think.

My son, wife, and I went to see Everest this evening. It was factually interesting, very realistic, and quite engaging for extended periods of time but it's definitely not a movie for those who want happy endings.

Our oldest daughter came down the stairs one day crying, said she just watched the horriblest movie. What's that? 'Titanic', 'it was awful, did you know they all died?'
You never heard of the Titanic!!? Actually some of them survived, think she was traumatized and she was 15 and watches all sorts of gory movies...lol.
