[Part 11]
Three days later..
[Most is to quote]
Quiet.
This was just how Tide liked it. Quiet.
Above the waters of the ocean, there was just far too much noise and dryness to take in all at once for too long. Here underwater, silence was what Aquations were used to. Tide swam with the fish around in the deep blue waters of the ocean, enjoying the saltiness and colors until..
she woke up.
Tide’s eye slowly opened. She sat under the water, face to face stone with the wall of the tank. Sighing, she popped her head up out of the water and shook the water out of her eyes. Her scales felt a little better- but they were alway so hard and tight now, and was too painful to fly. Grudgingly, she stepped out of the water- and her scales seemed to spit down her shoulder as she did so. She gasped, looking at them lifting up down her spine. Suddenly, in an a vapor of steam, the scales seemed to fall off and vanish. Tide closed her eyes, trembling and..
Nothing.
She opened her eyes, then looked around in surprise. Her line of vision was higher than it used to be! She gawked at her scales in shock. They were blue, with a darker turquoise color splashed down her back and arms. Her belly and wings were the pale color of sand. Her horns and claws were grey, and she had dark blue stripes on her arms, legs, and wings that could light up, she soon learned as she flashed them. A sail ran down her back, ending at a flat, muscular tail for powerful swimming. Her claws were webbed and still dripping from the tank.
With a light cry of joy, in a deeper Imago voice, she flapped her gracefully curved wings. She could fly again!
Tide’s expression dropped. Her transformation should’ve happened in Aquation, with her real mom. She was upset that her mother couldn’t be here to see her. Or even be in the right mind for that matter. Still, she was glad that now her and Whisp were on the same level- even if Whisp was older than her.
Onyx gathered herself before daring to approach her great leader.
“Master.” She said, bowing respectfully. “May I accompany you to meet the Monarches? I will be silent if that it what you wish. I want to show them that I work for no one but you, as I have met some of them in- peace. Before.”
“You're coming whether you wished to or not.” Apollyon said flatly, not bothering to give her the respect of turning to look at her. “Everyone in the Inner Ring will accompany me.
Go get them. ALL. Flint, Azira, and Tank.”
Storm is already there and Basalt and Vixen will be along shortly.”
“Tank?” Onyx said, upset. “Master, he hasn’t done anything special pertaining to your mission. Why do you want him to-“
“And you care to think that YOU are anything special??” Apollyon cut her off furiously, whipping around with shining red eyes.
“HOW DARE you think that I favor you WHATSOEVER?!”
GET OUT!! You'd better be at the BACK of the line behind me when we depart.”
Don't pride yourself. You are a worthless piece of scum.” He said chillingly.
Onyx clenched her jaw and kept silent. The spines down her back were lifted in anger.
Her and Flint were the ones who had made the virus!
She was the one who got him the underwater-breathing capsules!
She had actually completed his orders- even though some dragon had failed!
She wasn’t priding herself! In a rage, she whisked out of the throne room, scratching the floor rocks in anger.
Apollyon hissed malevolently.
Why, Flint had even dared to confront him earlier as well!
What was his Inner Ring coming to? They were his elite, and now they were acting like jealous little BRATS!
He growled, recalling Flint’s manipulative words after he’d dared to show his face after his failure..
“Give me ONE reason why I shouldn't kill you THIS INSTANT.” He’d hissed furiously.
Because, Master,” Flint had dared say, attempting to keep a cool composure.
“If I die, the clones die.
And if the clones die, you have no army.
No army, no conquest.
No conquest, no united Draconat.
No united Draconat..
and your entire life’s mission becomes one big failure.”
He’d watched Flint wince.
And he certainly was right to doubt his bold statement.
“You DARE to speak of my life when I hold yours in the palm of my talon?!!” Apollyon had roared, his voice shaking with pure fury.
“GET OUT!!” He had used the invisible force he possessed to slam Flint forcefully against the wall on the other side of the throne room. “Now GET OUT OF HERE before I TWIST YOUR STUPID LITTLE HEAD OFF and FEED IT to that little BAT-CREEP!! GO!!”
He had known that Azira was listening in. It was probably why she’d been smart enough to obey Apollyon without question so far.
And Tank.. Tank was the only Solosis wise enough to follow him. He was the brunt, submissive, obedient, and cruel too.
Apollyon liked that.
He collected his four dragons and two hundred troops who followed him at a considerable distance, carrying twenty barrels between themselves.
Flint, Onyx, Azira, and Tank each carried a barrel as well as they flew directly towards the southern Aquation border.
Onyx flattened her ears at the bloodred-scaled dragon’s back as she toted a huge, heavy barrel through the sky. She made sure to keep out of his eyesight the whole flight. Still, she was glaring daggers at his back the whole trip. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that- she didn’t care if she was favored or not.
She only wanted acceptance.
Or even just the slightest sign or confirmation that what she was doing was good.
Yet all they ever received was hate.
(WhAt?)NOO!!
????)NOO!!
[Part 12]
Two days prior..
Zephyr entered Monarche Storm’s private office, wondering what she could be needing. Honestly, it probably had to do with that big thug, Apollyon, taking over Enfernae and the meeting he had called the Monarches to attend.
Zephyr knew Storm was only going because the fire dragon just might try and invade her kingdom if she didn’t show up. She figured they weren’t supposed to bring their armies, like Apollyon was going to hold up his end of the pact. He wasn’t the real Monarche after all, and Zephyr still would acknowledge Vixen as the proper Enfernae Monarche till the day she died.
Storm fingered a necklace around her neck. It held a stone swirling with different colors of blues and glowed slightly. That was new.
Storm looked up. “Zephyr! There you are. Ready to go?” The aquamarine dragon tilted her head slightly. “Where, your highness?”
Storm glanced around. “Best not to talk here.” She said carefully. “Is the fog shield up?”
Zephyr nodded.
The fog shield was made by the fog and steam-breathing Aerattl. They outlined the border of Cloud City, concealing it it a cloud and making it nearly impossible for any other tribe of dragons to reach. Especially with the altitude and thinness of air.
It was put in at anticipation of an attack from Apollyon’s army, and had dragons rotating around the clock.
The Monarche and her advisor flew away from the main palace, flying swiftly southeast.
With a flight undoubtedly east for the two wind dragons, they reached a mountain peak, and swooped slightly below it, where Zephyr first noticed the small cave.
They landed.
It was a much bigger cavern on the inside, and Zephyr had underestimated it. They went deep into the cavern.
“Do you remember when all of the Monarche’s Vision Stones were stolen?” Storm began.
“Of course.” The advisor said. “You always kept it close on you, I remember the Royal Guard pursing the theif.”
Storm nodded absently, her brow furrowed. “Well I’m led to believe that this Apollyon dragon has them. Vixen said that he made a portal to show her his clones.”
Zephyr huffed. “Treacherous. Stealing from the Monarche.”
Storm led her to a large room, walls glowing mystically as defined crags glowed from the light of clusters of bluish green gemstones.
Zephyr drew in a breath, eyes wide. “What are these?” She said softly.
Storm smiled. “This has been the Aerattl monarche’s secret for years. Monarche Solar showed me this cave.”
The advisor felt a small lightning bolt of shock hit her heart. Did Storm mean to make her Monarche?
Storm wasn’t looking at her. “I believe it’s time we share this. I’m already wearing a necklace with one of the stones, and I’ve made more for the other monarches and their advisors.”
Zephyr let out a breath of anticipation. “This one is yours.” Storm said, handing a slightly glowing necklace to her. Zephyr took it and looped it over her head as they turned to leave.
“This place will also serve as an evacuation place if the worst happens.” Storm said. “Though we won’t tell them about the stone’s purpose.” Zephyr nodded.
“Would you take these to the Monarches?” Storm asked. “I’ll send a few guards to accompany you.” She handed her advisor six necklaces.
Zephyr bowed. “Of course, your highness. Right away.”
She flew off with Storm calling; “Good luck.” behind her.
I remember they had that meeting next to starshine's beachside clinic XD I do believe they were there for that to unless I'm remembering wrong.)[Part 13]
“Why are we here daddy?” A little blue Aqaution asked as he dug a clam out of the wet sand and began to pry it open.
The Solosis Monarche looked down from his survey to check Ace. “I’m here to meet someone.” He rumbled.
Armor clattered suddenly as Storm’s Royal Guard shifted their weight nervously. “Vixen should’ve been here by now.” The wind dragon leader mused concernedly as waves crashed and hissed at the shore, the misty spray feeling not quite right with the Virus poisoning the water.
Ace offered the clam to Basalt, who shook his head. “You go ahead.” He told the wyrm.
The beach might have been relaxing that afternoon had the air not been filled with the tension of Vixen’s absence and Apollyon’s soon-to-be arrival.
A red dragon flew in over the palm trees, and the two Monarches turned to see Vixen flying in. Alone.
She landed with a crunch of sand in front of the scrub brushes leading to the near distant tree line, eyes down.
“Vixen! What’s wrong? Why are you alone?” Storm said suddenly after an awkward amount of silence.
The Enfernae Monarche didn’t respond, but kept her eyes averted from the others’ worried gazes. Her face was upset.
“Vixen, where is-“ Basalt started to say.
An unnaturally loud roar cut him off.
A large, bloodred dragon, armor glinting in the light of the sun, and red eyes shining malevolently appeared over the tops of the trees, casting a large shadow and landing with a talon-rattling thump on the beach behind Basalt, who quickly swept Ace away with his tail protectively and moved nearer to where Storm and Vixen sat tensely.
Four fierce-looking dragons landed in a semicircle behind Apollyon, an army of black dragons identical to the one behind the red dragon descending threateningly behind them- massively outnumbering Storm and Basalt’s guard combined.
“Monarches.” Apollyon said with an evil smirk, looking down on the three. “Storm. Vixen. Ah, Basalt! I thought you’d have to be pulled kicking my an biting out of your little hole, but here you are! Good.”
Storm snarled. “What do you want? Who exactly ARE you?”
“Good question, Storm.” Apollyon said smoothly. “I am.. many things.”
Basalt glared at the red Enfernae, his expression devoid of the fear Apollyon had induced. He scoffed. “Your many things? A bird? A ROCK? Good for you!”
Apollyon growled deep in his throat. “Big words for a small dragon.” He snapped, the only one in the crowd taller than Basalt.
“Leave my daddy alone!” A small voice cried. A clamshell bounced off Apollyon nose, shocking him slightly as he pulled his head back. “And what’s THIS?” He rumbled amusedly.
“Don’t bother yourself, Ace.” Basalt growled, pulling him back.
“Star? You awake?” Tide called quietly as she walked into the main room of the clinic.
Starshine looked up from rolling a loose bandage. “Of course I am.” She said tiredly.
“Aw, Star, you look worn out! Are you okay?” The young Imago said, moving closer to her foster mother.
The black dragon sighed. “Yes. I’ve just been up late a lot because of the patients. Nothing I’m not used to. I couldn’t sleep last night, so I started sorting stuff.” She looked around at her piles of materials.
“Anything I can do to help?” Tide said, glancing around.
“Actually..” Starshine said, grabbing a satchel and handing it to Tide. “Can you get some herbs? Try and bring back a plant I don’t have- whole, so I can replant it.” Tide grabbed the brown leather bag eagerly. “Of course! I’ll go now!” She raced out the door.
“Also Whisp’s still asleep!” She called before she disappeared out the clinic.
Tide flew over the beach- what was that up ahead? Her eyes widened when she realized they were dragons.
There were so many! Quickly, she flew down and landed, running through behind the trees, her talons making thumping sounds in the loose sand.
She carefully crept up behind a red dragon with eight legs. There were Enfernae here? The saw two dragon talking angrily with each other, the red-scaled one over a head taller than the other. Solosis too? What was happening? Tide settled down is the bushes to listen as the dragons closest the the ocean waters started shouting something..
The go there after Current.I remember they had that meeting next to starshine's beachside clinic XD I do believe they were there for that to unless I'm remembering wrong.)
Oh, I remember that my healer was there at the time XD, guess I'm wrong.)The go there after Current.
