Flint, reaching the main building, landed on top and scanned the large canyon from this vantage point. He saw the Aerattl monarche fly in and knew immediately that Solosis would be on its way as well.

“Psst.” A dragon whispered behind Flint. “Who are you? Are you spying? Are you going after the Monarches? Talk!”

"Oh whoa! Didn't see you there, sorry. No, no my friend, absolutely not!! I was watching to make certain the honorable monarches arrived in saftey, good sir. I must say, I compliment you on your vigilance! What is your name, my watchful?"

“That’s ma’am to you.” The dragon said, stepping into the moonlight. “I was waiting for my Monarche to arrive- flying over the building- when I saw you spying.” She sat up straighter. “Your an Enfernae?” She questioned him. “I am Zephyr. Monarche Storm’s advisor.”

"Oh! My apologies, m'lady, I couldn't see very well. A pleasure to meet you, honorable advisor! Well, as your Monarche has arrived I'm sure you're eager to go in and have a successful and edifying discussion with our truly great leaders. Yes, Indeed I am an Enfernae! Oh dear, I really must be going now. Have a good night!" Flint took off into the night. He called back over his shoulder "Oh, and if ever a favor you would ask of me, do not hesitate for one isntant! For I am always ready to be a help when I can." He threw her a wink and headed off.

Zephyr squinted suspiciously. That dragon was nice- oddly nice. She cocked her head, then shrugged, not thinking too much of it, and flew inside- taking a place beside Storm.

Flint landed with a heavy, dejected thud in front of a seemingly smooth-walled cliff at the heart of the ash-rock range. He turned a small stone a certain way and a secret door opened up in front of him. He stalked through the entrance and shut it behind him, leaving him in pitch-blackness.
Then, dead silence.

Finally a deep, ominous voice rang from the back of the cavern, beyond where he could see.
"You failed. MISERABLY."

Flint winced and had a thousand excuses running through his head, but he knew that none would prove satisfactory. He blew it big time and he was going to really get it.

The voice went on.

"I give you one chance to redeem yourself. I have a special assignment that would be harder for you to butcher."

"Wh-what is it, master?" Flint asked nervously. This was going better than it should and he wasn't quite sure why.

"I want you to bring me an Aquation."

"But sir, hasn't-- hasn't the virus killed them all?!"

"All IMAGOS. There are many wyrms and and pupae that have escaped its reach. I want them. But first, one in particular."

"Which one, master?" Flint was curious

A pause.
"Her name is Tide. She was adopted by an Aerattl named Starshine and her son Whisp. Go find them and bring the aquation to me ALIVE."

Flint turned to go.

"BEFORE YOU LEAVE."
He stopped in his tracks at the sound of the voice.

"BEFORE YOU LEAVE, a few final commands. 1. This needs to be done quietly. 2. Do it at night if at all possible. 3. You are to MAKE CERTAIN that you are not connected with her disappearance in ANY way.
You have my orders now GO!"

Flint left the cavern for the bright sunlight of the new morning as quickly as he could.

Later that morning, three black dragons and one green flew fast and high above Enfernae territory, almost lost amongst the clouds, heading straight east.
