Onyx flew toward the Ash-rock Range, thinking of the events that had taken place. Her encounter with Mao would’ve gone more successfully if she hadn’t called him by name. If would’ve gone even smoother if she had avoided him in the first place- but, she didn’t.“Yes your highness.” The red and white dragon said, before turning away. She nodded to Mao as she passed, “Thank you for allowing me to come in.” She said, and left the Tallcanyon house, the guards watching her fly off. One of the guards came back into the meeting room; “The dragoness, Onyx, seems to have flown West.” He told Vixen. “Away from Enfernae territory.”
That was her mistake.
Her brow furrowed, and her eyes widened in the darkness of the night. Now was the perfect time to approach the mountain.She wished she could’ve made a better impression on Vixen. The Monarche seemed to treat her coldly because of Mao’s suspicion- so obviously he had a voice in the castle- Ah that was it. Onyx had heard somewhere that Vixen had appointed two Advisors. Mao must be one of them. “Grrr, I didn’t treat him with the respect his rank deserved!” She raged quietly.
That was another mistake.
Onyx hoped in the back of her mind that the Monarche would warm up to her- she was looking forward to working with Vixen’s team, and meeting the pupa that were going through with the task.
Onyx neared the mountain, and landed softly with a flap of her wings. She turned the secret handle on the cliff face and a door opened…
