I'm not going to be doing these myself (at least, not for the foreseeable future
), but I'm thinking of what crosses would make good Easter eggers. My idea would be to cross an Ameracana rooster (for egg color) and Black Austrolorp hens (for heavy egg production and good disposition). You'd get plenty of eggs to incubate, and maybe the next generation would be great layers too. I'm guessing those EEs would make pale green eggs? I know Ameracana x Maran makes a dark green 'olive' egg, so...
I know there's a 'super blue egg layer', but it's crossed with leghorn (I would guess), and I'm not fond of that flighty personality.
