custom feed mix with kelp

Quote:
Well, as it turns out the feed mill is happily grinding the animax for me, so no worries there. Now I am reading that a high percentage of soybean meal is not good for chickens so am having to rethink the entire process. I found a message earlier that contained ingredients of a custom diet that was nutritious, but have now lost it. <sigh>

Yes, I am comfortable with the 1-2% kelp, especially if they are going to try to pick around it.

What are flips?

I see you are in the PNW. I am in Puyallup. I've been looking for a source for kelp. Can you tell me which feed store carries it? Thanks. I'm thinking on using it to ramp up my breeding program with my call ducks. Karen

I buy my kelp meal from Wilco (farmers' co-op). If you look on their website they may tell you if there is one near there.

Also, as a side note, I have changed my recipe- my recipe is on my BYC page now. I am still using my same old bag of kelp meal but I don't think I'll buy more.
