Cut feathers

I presume you are considering cutting flight feathers? They molt a few times as juveniles so it's very temporary. Flying is also good exercise and helpful to avoid predators. Better to just give them a safe habitat with a top to keep them in.

I used to trim my parrot to only wing tips so she could still fly but it slowed her way down. The chickens, though, have much bigger worries than hitting a wall too hard while flying. If the neighbor's dog gets off the lead again, for instance, I want them to have a shot at escape. I know some chicken owners do it but it's generally folks with a fenced yard and neighbors who don't appreciate trespassing fowl.
